Former Ambassador Pete Peterson was at Hao Lo Prison while we were there. I introduced myself and got to speak with him for a few minutes.

He was shot down in 1966 and spent 6 years as a POW. In 1997 he was named as the first post-war US Ambassador to Vietnam.

He currently has a foundation which focuses on reducing head injuries due to motorbike accidents in Vietnam. He focuses his time and efforts to improve a country which held him captive for 6 years. A very special man.

He is married to a Vietnamese women, who took the picture.
