This is the Vietnam Presidential Palace. It was built by the French in the early 1900s. My guild told me ~10 times that the President and Vice President are working hard today (Saturday).

He said the President is the highest ranking official in Vietnam, followed by the VP, then the Prime Minister.

It is amazing how close you can get to the Palace. There were no fences, etc.

When Ho Chi Minh became President, he could have moved into the Palace. He refused, since he was a simple and humble man he moved into the electricians quarters which are out back. It is a simple 3 room building: bed room, dining area and office.
