A fun Saturday.

I roamed around today. In the pictures Hoan Keim Lake looks tranquil and peaceful. It is downtown, completely surrounded by a very busy road which means hundreds of motorbikes, an occasional car or bus, most honking their horns.

The road on one side of the lake is a one way road. I quickly discovered that means the motorbikes which want to go the other direction drive down the sidewalks. I still have not been hit!

The electricity is a bit intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Internet is a bit slow.

The food is fascinating. At lunch yesterday one of the folks I work with (I work with all women: Mai, Duc, Huong, Phoung and Dahn) asked if I was going to finish my fish. The little bit which was left didn’t look like fish, but a tossed it in my mouth. It didn’t taste like fish. I asked if she was sure that was part of the fish. She stated it was the stomach. I now know I do not like fish stomachs, or at a minimum what that fish had to eat before I ate the fish.
